چکیده

In order to obtain a better understanding why some entrepreneurs retain more control over their venture than others, this article analyzes the relationship between social identity of entrepreneur and her/his desire for control. fact, face an important tradeoff attracting resources required build company value retaining decision-making Yet, we currently lack insight into whether how entrepreneurs’ motivations shape trade-off. This study draws on theory unique sample 148 buyout entrepreneurs, as setting confronts aspiring directly with value–control tradeoff. our logistic regression, find that strong missionary identity, where creation revolves around advancing cause, hold higher We do not observe significant having Darwinian (driven by economic self-interest) or communitarian concern community) venture. When adding moderating role portion personal wealth is willing invest in venture, relationships become significantly positive when looking larger wealth.
